During that time we`ve created opportunities for Japanese artists to partner with the best Western creative minds, and opportunities for those creatives and the clients they represent to turn their Japanese-inspired visions into reality. Your connection to our network of Japanese artists, illustrators, animators and creators will be John. John graduated from Oxford University in 1999 before moving to Japan and teaching at Osaka University of the Arts. He now lives in Okinawa, where our agency is based.
When you work with a Japanese artist you get authenticity, reliability, and access to a creative mind quite unlike any other. Japanese artists and illustrators possess tremendous depths of imagination and technical ability, as well as the very highest standards of professionalism and project management. Of course, the problem for most Western creatives has been the language and cultural barriers. At Japan Illustration Agency we obviously know the language, the culture, the way things are done in Japan; but we also believe that each creator has their own language, their own culture, and their own way of doing things. We spend a lot of time with our artists so we can understand their creative practices and processes, the ways they communicate, and the ways in which they think and approach their productions. And the reason we do that is so that we can hook them up with the most innovative Western clients and creatives around to craft beautiful pieces of cross-cultural art: distinctive illustrations, artworks and animations born from the unique coming-together of creative forces from opposite sides of the world.
